Concerts and events with the premiertone artists
An orchestra playing in a tent at the Oktoberfest - the Münchener Kammerorchester gives that idea a try and performs in the "Herzkasperl-Zelt" at the "Oide Wiesn" on September 30th. Clemens Schuldt conducts some movements from Jörg Widmann's "Dubairische Tänze" on this occasion, BR-Klassik is going to broadcast live. There is another event in an equally unconventional location this week: Daniel Finkernagel hosts "Klassik mit Kölsch" at the Café Funkhaus in Cologne on September 26th. In this concert series, you can not only listen to music but also to some stories about being a musician as Daniel Finkernagel talks to the members of the WDR Sinfonieorchester.
Clemens Schuldt also conducts a more traditional concert this week: On September 26th, he's going to lead the Ulster Orchestra in Belfast in a concert with works by Schumann, Mahler and Beethoven.
Passo Avanti appears in Karlsruhe on September 27th. At the "Festival der Nationen" in Bad Wörishofen, Nils Mönkemeyer participates in even two concerts on September 27th and 28th, performing for example with Julia Fischer and Daniel Müller-Schott.
There are quite a lot of duo concerts during this week: Chiara Enderle gives a recital with Camilla Köhnken in Greifensee on September 30th, interpreting works by Schumann, Rachmaninov, Bloch and Mendelssohn Bartholdy. Claudio Bohórquez, accompanied by Almut Preuß-Niemeyer, plays music by Schumann, Grieg, Janáček and Martinů in Minden on September 27th. Jasmin-Isabel Kühne performs in a concert with harp and violin in Dellbrück (Cologne) on October 1st, and Nicholas Rimmer accompanies Ania Vegry in Hindemith's "Das Marienleben" at the Hindemith Institut in Frankfurt on October 1st.
Also on October 1st, Mikayel Hakhnazaryan starts into the Open Chamber Music Tour 2017: During the first concert in Truro, you can not only listen to works by Mozart and Beethoven but also to the premiere of Mark Anthony Turnage's "Prussian Blue". The Trio Karénine performs at the "Balade culturelle et gourmande" in Tautavel on September 29th, and Reinhard Goebel conducts the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra in Norway on September 28th and 29th. Finally, Daniel Raiskin has been invited by the Orquesta Clásica Santa Cecilia in Madrid for a concert on September 28th.
Until October 5th, you can apply for the 10th Competition "Franz Schubert und die Moderne", organised by the Kunstuniversität Graz (KUG). The competition is open for duos of piano and singer (Lied), string quartets and piano trios.
