Concerts and events with the premiertone artists
We start into our new preview with the premiertone singers! Ilia Papandreou will be celebrating a premiere on October 6th: She sings in "Reformhaus Lutter" with the WDR Funkhausorchester Köln. Further performances will take place on October 7th and 8th. Sunhae Im appears with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin in Wien on October 2nd - the title of her concert in the Musikverein is "Amore perduto" - and Robert Koller performs in Siegfried Matthus' "Luthers Träume" in Potsdam on October 3rd.
The violists are also quite busy this week: Andra Darzins plays in a chamber music concert with Kolja Lessing (piano) in Aidlingen on October 7th. Barbara Buntrock appears in Eichwalde with her Wupper Trio, also on October 7th, and Nils Mönkemeyer performs at the Schubertiade Hohenems with Sabine Meyer and William Youn on October 6th. William Youn and Nils Mönkemeyer can also be heard in Egestorf on October 7th.
The Trio Gaspard performs only partially together this week: Jonian Ilias Kadesha and Vashti Hunter give a concert in Nordkirchen on October 8th, and Nicholas Rimmer accompanies Ania Vegry, Georg Gädker and Kilian Herold at the Markgräfler Musikherbst in Bad Krozingen on October 7th.
Claudio Bohórquez and pianist Almut Preuß-Niemeyer perform in a matinee in Bremen on October 3rd. The other premiertone cellists also appear in chamber music concerts: Joanna Sachryn and her New Cologne Piano Trio give concerts in Regensburg, Bayreuth and Bad Steben on October 3rd, 6th and 8th, and Esther Saladin performs with her Améi Quartet in Frankfurt and Bonn on October 3rd and 4th. Mikayel Hakhnazaryan travels through Great Britain: During the Open Chamber Music Tour 2017, he interprets works by Mozart and Schubert together with other artists. There's even a world premiere on the ensemble's program: Mark Anthony Turnage composed the quintet "Prussian Blue" for this year's anniversary concert tour.
Passo Avanti travels south: The ensemble performs in Piove di Sacco on October 8th. Jan Schultsz interprets Brahms' three violin sonatas with Leila Schayegh on October 5th, and Jasmin-Isabel Kühne appears in Kassel and Braunschweig on October 7th and 8th.
On October 3rd, Clemens Schuldt conducts Beethoven's 9th symphony in Chemnitz to celebrate the Day of German Unity. He also appears with the Münchener Kammerorchester in Perm on October 8th during a concert tour through Russia. Nevertheless, the Novus String Quartet is the ensemble that travels the farthest this week: The quartet plays two concerts at the Macao International Music Festival in Macao on October 7th and 8th, interpreting works by Britten, Ravel, Webern, Mozart and others.
